Ethos & Mission Statement

Our aim is to provide a stimulating and structured environment where every child feels accepted and happy. We believe that small classes make a difference and valuing each child as an individual is most important.

We aim to help the children towards a greater development of themselves and encourage them to achieve their full potential.

We value all the children who come to the school, their families and cultural backgrounds. We celebrate the diversity of our school community and aim to meet the needs of all our children giving them aspirations, respect and responsibility.

Each child has their own unique talents and abilities and we have actively designed a curriculum using accelerated learning and promoting multiple intelligence which cover all the ways children learn.

Our aim as educators is to develop the whole child and prepare them for their future lives and for the schools they will be going on to when they leave us.

During their time at the school the children develop a strong self-belief in their own capabilities and this in turn results in the children having noticeably high levels of confidence. If children have good self -esteem we find that their results are correspondingly good.

Our high academic standards are well established and continuously extended. The enriched creative curriculum of art, sports, dance, music and drama is given equal priority in order to provide the maximum opportunities for success for each pupil. Every child's achievement is celebrated.

We believe children learn best when:

  • their physical and emotional needs are properly catered for
  • their individual levels of development are taken into account
  • their natural interest and curiosity are aroused
  • they are motivated by a direct experience
  • they are able to consolidate their experiences through structured play
  • instructions are given within an ordered and structured environment
  • they are encouraged to be independent and to see learning as an active process
  • they know clearly what is expected of them
  • they are encouraged to develop their problem solving abilities

Aims

Our aims are:

  • to provide an outstanding education in a happy, friendly environment
  • to provide small classes to facilitate individual learning
  • to encourage good manners and respect for each other
  • to encourage every child to reach their full potential without losing their natural spontaneity
  • to value children for themselves as individuals and members of a cultural group
  • to celebrate achievements and encourage children to do their best, to aim for excellence
